Tragic Accident Claims Lives of Three Indian Women in South Carolina

Greenville County, SC - In a horrific incident, three women from the Indian state of Gujarat lost their lives in a devastating car crash on Interstate 85 in South Carolina. The victims have been identified as Rekhaben Patel, Sangitaben Patel, and Manishaben Patel, all residents of Anand district.

According to reports from the Greenville County Coroner's Office, the incident occurred when the SUV they were traveling in veered off the northbound lanes of I-85. The vehicle crossed all lanes, climbed an embankment, and then launched at least 20 feet into the air before crashing into trees on the opposite side of the bridge.

Authorities believe excessive speed was a contributing factor in the tragic accident. "It is obvious they were traveling above the posted speed limit," stated Chief Deputy Coroner Mike Ellis in an interview with WSPA News. He further clarified that no other vehicles were involved in the incident.

The aftermath of the crash was devastating, with the SUV found wedged against a tree, shattered into multiple pieces. "Very seldom do you see a vehicle that leaves the roadway at such a high rate of speed that it jumps 4-6 lanes of traffic and lands in the trees approximately 20 feet," Ellis expressed, highlighting the severity of the crash.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the local Indian community, with many mourning the loss of the three women. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic accident.

The loss of these three lives serves as a solemn reminder of the importance of adhering to traffic laws and exercising caution on the roads. The thoughts and condolences of the community go out to the families and loved ones of the victims during this difficult time.
